Office/Craft Room Makeover

I can't believe it has taken me so long to share with you my office makeover.  I have decided I am a ADD Crafter.  I start a project and need something from a different room and then get to the room and start a different project.  It is a major problem for me, hmmm I wonder if they have help for this.  Anyways I finally finished and then got around to taking some pictures so I thought I better share before something else comes up.

I have never been a blue person when it comes to paint on my walls but I am loving this dark blue I used.

Prior to this becoming my very own space it was my sons bedroom. After a little shifting in the house I finally have a space all my own.

I Kept it simple with the artwork and added some pictures from our recent trips to Australia & Aruba

Do you remember the lamp I refaced well here is her final home.  You can check out her before and after here

I had this light upstairs in the room I moved my son to and fear for its life it had to make it's way downstairs to this room.  Plus it didn't really go with a boy room.

Dresser Before
I re-painted this dresser and side table before but decided in this room I wanted something a little more girly.  Frankly I am surrounded by boys so this corral wouldn't go over well in really any other room.

Computer Desk Before

The computer Desk also got a facelift

One of my favorite things in this room is this Antique Singer sewing machine which my husband rescued from his mother.

I found this fantastic World Map online and the thing I liked about it was that it had more brown tones to it.

Okay isn't this the cutest little oil can you have ever seen.  It was hiding in one of the drawers of the sewing machine.

So there you have it, do you like it as much as I do.

I Believe

12 Days of Christmas ~ Day #3

I am just in love with how this turned out, it makes me smile every time I come home.

When I made this I wanted something that you could see from a distance and that had a weathered, rustic look to it.
I made this by using layers of various colors to get the layered look.

Snowman Family

Well it is here again,  my favorite time of the year.  My Goal this holiday season is to do Twelve holiday crafts, baking or gifts to share with you.

For my first one I decided we needed to have ourselves a little 2x4 snowman family.  This was fun for the kids as they got to help out with sanding and picking out their button colors.

This was such a fun project to do.  Truly the hardest part was figuring out what size they should all be.

I used 2x4's for most of the snowman and then 1x4 for a part of the hat.  I simply glued all the pieces together and waited patiently for them to dry.

Once they were all dry each one got two coats of paint and a little sanding. Then it was time for the kiddies to head down to my paint drawer and figure out what color of buttons they all wanted.

  Aren't they fun

Hope you Enjoy

Office Closet Makeover

I am really starting to love having my very own room that is totally away from everyone else.  Even better all of my crafts that have been spread throughout the house in various places are finally located in one room.  Moving my little man back upstairs has really had its perks.

Before I could even start to organize the main room I had to get in here and work out this mess.  When we moved rooms around everything was just thrown in here and I am sure most of you know what it is like to work around a room full of things.  Kinda like having kids in the room, everything takes twice as long.

No I am not a hoarder I just happen to have a whole lot of crafts.  This is a little before view of the mess I was dealing with. I know its not pretty.

With a fresh coat of white paint I wanted to add a little color back in so I used my mass amount of boxes and gave them a coat of paint to give a little pop of color. A little downsizing and some organization sure can change a space.

The rest of the room is coming along nicely I can finally walk into the room without tripping on something, or without having to move two or three things to get to my computer. I was also given a nice addition by my mother in-law that I can't wait to share.

Watch Me Grow

Oh could there be anything better than seeing how much your children have grown, it is actually amazing how quickly it happens.  My kids love to get measured.

This time I have made two different Height charts, one for a little princess who turned one.  And one for my niece and nephew who have moved and now have room to put one up.

For the numbers I like to go up by 2 inches so that it doesn't feel to cluttered.  I finished it off with a few fun flowers on each end.

For this one I wanted to make it gender neutral so I went with a simple design using black lettering and no extra decals.

The thing I like about these movable growth charts is that it doesn't matter if you have to re-paint or you move you can always take it with you.  Trust me I have made the mistake of doing this on the wall and then moving and having to leave behind.

Planter Box

I am sorry I have been a little MIA lately but wow the past couple of weeks have been a little crazy.  We have been on a hunt for some new property, headed out for our first camping trip of the year, had a year end concert, and started our first season of football spring training.  Man I think I am just tired writing it, lol.

So thank you all for sticking around and being patient.

Today I figured I should get going on some projects, I have a few on the go but can't post some of them just yet.

This was an easy one to do.  I used 6x6 boards cut to size and then with a little glue, nail gun and some good old paint. A simple and easy planter box filled with pretty flowers.

Just wanted to share with you a little snippet of my busy week.  Keegan decided to give football this year, he was a little bit worried about getting hit.  But after 5 practices he has come home after each tackling day and says he loves it the most, go figure.

Also tomorrow I am going to be having my first ever give away so keep an eye out for that.

Sneak Peak

I hope that you have all had a wonderful weekend.  Here in Alberta it has been beautiful, my boys have spent most of the weekend riding bikes and playing in the sprinklers which for her is almost unheard of for this time of year.  We better take what we can because next week it might snow.

My hubby went away to Idaho for the weekend to do a little dirt biking so I thought what a perfect time to do those projects that he said no way to, lol.

Here is just a little sneak peak of what I was up to, I will do a full post on this in a day or so.

Isn't she pretty, okay so maybe I was told not to paint this and perhaps that yellow is not going to be his favorite choice but I am hoping that the painted and organized garage will offset this.

This week me and my little man went on his meet the teacher night for kindergarten, got to do a tour and ride the bus.  He is pretty excited to go to the same school as his big brother.

We also had our year end Karate Gala where Chase was awarded with his White Advanced belt and my Keegan was awarded with the best Focus award for all of the Dojo.

My hubby is on his way home from a great weekend, my hands are sore from all the painting and the boys are out riding their bikes how much better can it get.

Dreaming Of A Little Summer

I know it has been a little while but I am back and with a list of projects that I want to get done.

You might also notice a few changes around here, I participated in Inspire Me Heather's Blog review so after reviewing some of the feedback I have made some changes.  I am still working and tweaking some thing so let me know what you think.

Even though we wake up to snow some days I am really itching for summer to be here.  I look at my back yard can't wait to plant my garden and flowers.

I decided I needed to make a little summer sign, the bright colors remind me of summer.

For those that have been following I know I haven't posted the result of my bedroom makeover but that is because it isn't done yet.  I really want to paint a few pieces of furniture to finish it off and I promise I will get it done and post pictures soon.

I have my son's birthday coming up in a few weeks so stay tuned for posts on the party planning and a new cake.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.
