I am just in love with how this turned out, it makes me smile every time I come home.

When I made this I wanted something that you could see from a distance and that had a weathered, rustic look to it.  

I made this by using layers of various colors to get the layered look.

Here Comes The Bride

So the other day I bit the bullet and decided I am going to advertise my signs for sale.  That's right to complete strangers.  I have been wanting to do this for some time but just didn't have the guts to put my work out there, would anyone want to purchase them.  Well low and behold someone actually made an order for some signs.  

It is exciting to know that my signs will be included in someones special day, they will be part of their memories for a lifetime.  I couldn't be happier. 

Bride & Groom Signs

I love how these turned out so I just couldn't wait until October to share these.  So thought I would give a little sneak peak at some wedding projects I have been working on. 

The bride I am working with is having a rustic/country wedding so I made these Bride & Groom signs for her special day.  

I can't wait to share some of the other projects I have been working on for this wedding, but I don't want to give away to many of her secrets till after October. 

Dreaming Of A Little Summer

I know it has been a little while but I am back and with a list of projects that I want to get done.  

You might also notice a few changes around here, I participated in Inspire Me Heather's Blog review so after reviewing some of the feedback I have made some changes.  I am still working and tweaking some thing so let me know what you think.

Even though we wake up to snow some days I am really itching for summer to be here.  I look at my back yard can't wait to plant my garden and flowers.  

I decided I needed to make a little summer sign, the bright colors remind me of summer.

For those that have been following I know I haven't posted the result of my bedroom makeover but that is because it isn't done yet.  I really want to paint a few pieces of furniture to finish it off and I promise I will get it done and post pictures soon.   

I have my son's birthday coming up in a few weeks so stay tuned for posts on the party planning and a new cake.

Bedroom Makeover ~ Part 4

Through this makeover I have realized that it isn't the big stuff that takes time but it is the little things and the artwork that I don't just want to buy just because so you hold out for that perfect piece. 

I went on a man hunt for that perfect piece of artwork, I didn't know exactly what I wanted but knew the feeling I wanted.  This was actually try number two the first one I thought I could paint something creative and it would look fantastic, well I found out that my paintings should not be shown in public, lol.  So I invested my $40.00 into a piece of Canvas and found a poem that I thought was fantastic.

I did this similar to my other signs using a vinyl stencil and putting it on that way.  This wasn't without a few oops.  Once I got it all done I noticed a few missing letters so I had to do a little cutting and fitting them in. 

Bedroom Makeover Part 3 - Family Sign

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend.  Ours was a birthday filled weekend, with two kids birthday parties.  One was about an hour away with some friends and after the party we were able to head over to my sisters house to meet her new little man.  We also had my father in-law and mother in-law here throughout the week and weekend. Wow I am tired just thinking about it.  I finished my weekend up by going to watch the hunger games movie, as I didn't read the book I didn't really have any expectations but thought it was a good movie.  For those of you who have seen it didn't you find it to be a little too bouncy almost making you feel carsick. I hope the ones to follow are not filmed the same way.  

This weekend I was able to finish up this Family sign and get it up on the wall. 

I am sure it is no surprise that I love to make signs so how could I do a bedroom makeover with out one in there.

This bedroom project has taken much longer than I thought just because I am trying to find a few things to go in there that I haven't been able to find but I am in the home stretch so finished pictures are soon to come. 

I started with my 1x4 board that was painted black first and then white for the top coat, which was then sanded down. 

I used my vinyl cutter to create stencils 

I still have to add another picture into one of the frames an I might add one more frame on each side too. 

Guest Post At Creative Carmella

I am so excited today to be over at Creative Carmella guest posting.  She has recently added another addition to her family and needed a little help while she was spending time getting in all the snuggles and mommy time she can.  So please stop on over and check out my newest Fall Sign and a little tutorial to go with it as well. 

Garden Signs

Okay so I have an obsession, I will admit it.  I am in love with garden signs and antique signs I just love them to pieces.  I have seen alot of them out there and they are all fabulous.  For my backyard I wanted to add a little bit of fence are to beautify it a little bit.  I have a ton of cedar planks left from my playhouse project and some 1x4's hanging around so I decided to create my own signs. 

I made a family established signs and then flanked it with the birth dates of my children on the smaller 1x4 boards.

That's right we really aren't Raisins it is just a nickname I have given my kids.

I love the look of just having the numbers on them.  It is a little hard to see in the picture but I sanded these all down to give them more of a vintage feel to them. 

Finally I topped it off with a letter R in a cool font.  These letters were all stenciled on so I could sand them down to give it the vintage feel.  I finished of the signs with a top coat so that they will withstand the elements better. 

Finished Playhouse

The Playhouse is Done!!!! 

I am so excited to share this finished project with you, like many project I do it starts with a little idea and then snowballs into something way bigger.  If my husband had it his way we would have thrown up the walls, slapped a little paint on it and called it good.  I think my vision turned out better than his.  

The Grocery Store was a complete surprise for the kids, they love to play store so I thought it would be perfect in here.

I searched high and low for food to go in the playhouse but all that I could find was a ice cream package and some fruit and veggies so I decided to make my own felt food.  These were my first attempts.  I have many more to make for the kids but I ran out of time to get it all done.  Plus I couldn't make them wait any longer to see it.

This bench was made for the kids playhouse by their Grandpa,  I store all the extra craft stuff in here.

I couldn't do a playhouse without a craft table for the kids, they love to craft just as much as I do. 

I found these cute buckets at easter time as stocked them away for this very project.  The hooks I picked up from the dollar store. The trick is to see if the stuff will actually all stay where it is supposed to go. 

I tried to make everything have a little vintage feel to it.  One of my favorite projects so far.

 I finished this late last night so this morning I got the kids up and first thing they got to do was check it out.  The looks on their faces is what makes this all worth it.  I know they are going to have so many hours of fun and create so many memories in this space.
