Bedroom Makeover ~ Part 4

Through this makeover I have realized that it isn't the big stuff that takes time but it is the little things and the artwork that I don't just want to buy just because so you hold out for that perfect piece. 

I went on a man hunt for that perfect piece of artwork, I didn't know exactly what I wanted but knew the feeling I wanted.  This was actually try number two the first one I thought I could paint something creative and it would look fantastic, well I found out that my paintings should not be shown in public, lol.  So I invested my $40.00 into a piece of Canvas and found a poem that I thought was fantastic.

I did this similar to my other signs using a vinyl stencil and putting it on that way.  This wasn't without a few oops.  Once I got it all done I noticed a few missing letters so I had to do a little cutting and fitting them in. 

Wall Art

With the computer desk finished the wall behind it was looking a little sparse.  I didn't have anything that would work so I created this piece of artwork to add a little color to the wall.  I have a few more pieces to add as well which is why it looks a little high.

For this project I took a scrap piece of wood that I already had and coated it with drywall mud.  I then took a piece of cardboard and notched it out to run down the length of the board.  Then to finish it I used a roller to go over top and smooth it out so there wasn't to many pokey pieces. 

Once the mud was dry I gave it a good coat of primer and the with the colors I chose started to paint and play with it until I got this as the finished result.  

Theater Room Art & Fun Times at Calaway Park

Sorry for no posts in the past few days but it has been a really busy week.  We have just been having to much fun, but I managed to find some time to create something.  A couple of months ago I had come across a piece of art work at home sense and I thought no way am I paying $50.00 for that I will just make it.  

 I am trying really hard to make the space very manly with a little touch of feminine in it.  So I have created this  license plate art.  He was content on just having the license plates but I wanted to add the wording on top.  I starting by doing some searching online to find pictures of license plates and decoupaged them to a board I had made out of mdf and attatched it to a 1x4 board.  I used the rest of the 1x4 to cut out the square blocks. I am pretty sure these blocks were painted about 4 different colors before I decided on this one.  I finished it off with sanding the edges and stenciling the letters on.

I made sure to put on a Wyoming license plate in honor of a good friend who is from there. 

Subway Art

This was such a fun project. I had a scrap piece of wood in the garage and bought some nice trim to make a frame.  

The fun part was figuring out which words I wanted and how to place them to all fit.  I have a vinyl business so I had lots of vinyl color options to pick from.  This piece went in my sons room and I just love it.
