This past week was my sons 9th birthday and as I write that I still can't believe I have a 9 year old. Every time some one says time goes by so fast it really is true.
This year when I asked Keegan what he wanted me to make for his cake I was told to surprise him. With his love for Lego I thought that would be the way to go.
This was a last minute decision so all the Lego pieces were made by hand. To get the dots on the top I used an icing tip and added them to the blocks.
On another note our hardwood floors are all done and look fantastic. Can't wait to start painting the walls and cabinets.
What fun projects did you do this weekend?

My nephew would love love love this! I'd really love it if you'd add this my Oldie's link party! http://www.dosmallthingswithlove.com/2013/03/an-oldie-but-goodie-10.html
Wow! How awesome is that! Very cool!
SO cute! I found your blog at the Manic Monday link party and had to click on the Lego cake, so creative! Can't wait to see more ideas on your blog. My blog, Sarah Lynn's Sweets, is all about cakes, cupcakes, and sweet treats. I love seeing other people's ideas for those as well!
So cute!
Very cute! My boys are very much into Lego's right now. I love this idea! Thanks for getting the creative juices flowing :)
This is so cute! My son wants a Lego party this year. I will have to keep this in mind. :) - Jessica (cutesycrafts.com)
What a great cake! Thank you for sharing at View from River Mountain: Show It Off link party. Hope we see you back next week.
thanks for visiting my blog. I love the cake. I made my son a lego cake too - on my blog. But my perspective was a lot different to yours. I made little mini loaves and made each one look like a lego piece. I love what you have done. A lot more creative and heaps more work than what I did!!
This is brilliant! It looks perfect - the detail is spot on!
How realistic looking! Bet this was a big hit!
Featured you at our party today! :) http://www.cutesycrafts.com/2013/03/an-oldie-but-goodie-11.html
